She arrived from a breeder and this new world is all very big and very new to her.<br/><br/>Ozark is extremely shy, and right now she prefers to quietly observe instead of dive into new experiences. She’ll need gentle adopters who understand that trust isn’t built overnight, and who can celebrate small victories along the way.<br/><br/>A mentor dog in the home is a must for Ozark. She feels safest with another canine by her side — one that's confident, calm, and reassuring to show her how to be a family dog. With the steady presence of another dog, Ozark will begin to open up and discover that being loved is actually pretty wonderful.<br/><br/>FOSTER UPDATE: Ozark is now settling into her foster home, where she’s beginning to experience what love and daily life as a family dog look like. She has already made wonderful progress — she’s learned to walk on a leash and even enjoyed a long walk, happily running to catch up with our other dogs along the way. While she’s still a bit timid inside the home, these small but meaningful milestones show that she’s starting to come out of her shell.
