Oz/Otis's Story
Oz was an owner surrender to the NYCACC - The New York City Animal Care Centers. He was eight years old and a black dog. A double whammy as we say in rescue. A dog highly rated for euthanasia only because of his age and being black.

His time was coming to an end due to other animals coming into he city shelter. Only for that reason his life was about to end.

We were so lucky a very generous woman stepped up to save his life.

This is what she has to say about Oz/Otis.

I'm looking for a home where I can be my loyal and occasionally goofy but mostly chill self. I'm fine leaning next to you on the couch, going on short walks or just napping most of the day!

My profile:
Great with cats (my foster family has two & I respect their space, even though I want to play sometimes)
Neutral/tolerant with dogs
Not reactive to strangers
Crate trained
Potty trained - just take me out by 8 am!
Great on walks
Tolerate baths/brushing/ear cleanings

Perfect for an elderly person, a couple who's looking to adopt their first dog, or even experienced dog owners looking to bring a well-trained lover boy into their lives.

Random facts:
I like soft, stuffed animals (not squeaky toys)
I love chewing on bones (but please make sure they're not the kind that splinters)
