Owl's Story

Owl is a beautiful, suspected Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever mix who is just under a year old and weighs approximately 40 pounds.

Owl was found as a stray with several other very similar-looking dogs, believed to possibly be littermates. While we can't know their history for certain, we suspect they may have been dumped by a backyard breeder when they didn't sell. They were brought to ACCT Philly, and transferred to us for their chance at a better life.

Right now, Owl is scared and nervous but trying so hard to be brave. The world can still feel overwhelming to him, and he is slowly learning that people can be kind and that life can actually be pretty wonderful.

Our volunteers are patiently showing him the way. With calm handling, gentle head scratches and plenty of reassurance, Owl slowly begins to let his guard down. Every little bit of trust is a victory for this sensitive boy.

Owl isn't looking for someone to rush him. He needs a patient, loving home that will let him blossom at his own pace and celebrate each step forward. Having a friendly, social dog in his new home would be ideal, giving Owl a confident canine companion to learn from as he adjusts to family life.

There is a brave, happy dog waiting to emerge. Owl just needs someone willing to give him the time, patience and love to find him.

If you have a soft spot for the shy ones, Owl may just be waiting for you.

He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested.

Apply for adoption at www.phoenixanimalrescue.com
Adoption fee: $500

Phoenix Animal Rescue
Chester Springs, Pa
Kennel License #5152
