Please meet Otis Spunkbarker! He is a Treeing Walker Coonhound, weighing in at 47 lbs of sheer fun! He was found as a stray with two beagle friends in Mississippi. We believe they were part of a hunt club and were released or dumped. This amazing boy has had all of his medicals completed and ready to find his new forever home where he can continue learning what having a home and a family is all about. He has discovered that toys and cuddling on the couch is absolutely magical. He still likes to stand up and give you hugs and help you cook, if you will let him. He can find every single morsel that you drop. He is learning commands, walks well on a leash and loves to ride in a car. He will try to get out with you, just in case you need help, and riding shotgun is super fun! He is working on being housebroken and is crate trained, but consistency is key to his continued training. He loves to play and romp with friends and stroll around the yard. He ABSOLUTELY ADORES TOYS, especially those that squeak and crinkle. He can be a bit of a toy hog when gathering all his favorites! You will most likely find him in a toy box, if given the chance. His other favorite is snuggling with you, whenever he can. He has an adorable personality, especially if you have treats! He is very much a nose to the ground, previous hunting dog, so proper supervision would be required to make sure he doesn’t go off on a jaunt! He still has some manners to learn, but he is beautiful and so worth it!

FOSTER EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATION:
Dogs: Yes, fostering with dogs of various sizes, breeds and genders.
Cats: Unknown. We have not formally cat tested him at this time. Recommend slow and proper introduction and an understanding of his size and playfulness, but dog only home is preferred.
Other Small Animals: Unknown
Children: Yes, He has NOT been tested with infants or toddlers, so proper supervision and introductions would be required.

ADOPTION INFORMATION:
We are a foster-based animal rescue and we thank you for your interest in one of our animals. Our animals are fostered in various locations in the a South and in New England. Our fosters and adoption coordinators are the backbone of what we do. Our fosters work tirelessly to integrate our rescue animals into their home, so that we can provide as much information to potential adopters as possible. In addition, our coordinators offer as much information regarding the medical and behavioral and personality characteristics as is known to our organization. Without them, and our extremely generous donors, we would not be able to save as many animals as we do every day. With each adoption, we operate a Pay It Forward program, whenever possible, to help other animals in our rescue and future animals in need.
