Otis's Story
Otis — 1 year | German Shepherd | 62 lbs | Male, neutered

Meet Otis: a sweet, high-energy young GSD who wants to be your everything. He's driven by play — especially chase and tug — and lives to please with praise and attention. Otis loves being close (he'll happily “stylist” your hair), is affectionate, and eager to learn. He's crate-trained and housetrained when calm, knows “sit” and “wait,” and has mastered sitting to ask for what he wants. He loves nearly any treat, which makes him highly trainable.

Behavior notes: Otis is still a bit jumpy and currently has some separation anxiety, which can lead to destructive behavior if bored or left alone without enrichment or a crate. He's made huge strides in being less mouthy during his time in foster. He plays well with other dogs but will be calmer as the only dog in the household. Unknown with cats. Because of his jumping and energy, a home without small children is recommended for now.

Background: Found wandering the streets of Milwaukee and taken in by MADACC; no owner came forward.

Ideal home: active, patient adopters experienced with high-drive dogs, committed to continued training, exercise, and enrichment. Crate use when needed and supervised introductions to other pets recommended.
