Otis's Story

Meet Otis! 🚀🐾

Otis is a 1.5 year old, 50 pound standard aussie with a fun personality, a smart brain, and a big heart. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be included in whatever his people are doing, whether that’s going for walks, hanging out in the yard, road trips, or relaxing at home after a busy day.

Otis came to us from a crowded North Texas shelter where he was really starting to struggle with the environment. The constant noise, stress, and kennel life were getting to him, and you could tell he just needed someone to give him a real chance outside of those walls. Once he got into foster care and could finally decompress, his personality started shining through.

Like most young Aussies, Otis has energy, but he’s not nonstop chaos. He does really well when he has a little structure, regular exercise, and enrichment to keep his mind busy. He’s eager to please, highly trainable, and genuinely enjoys learning new things. He picked up potty training quickly and learned to use the dog door just by watching the other dogs in his foster home.

Otis is affectionate, social, and loves being around people. He may come in a little excited when meeting new friends, but he settles nicely and enjoys simply being near his humans. He walks well on leash, rides great in the car, and loves toys and interactive play.

He gets along well with other dogs and would do best with playful, confident canine companions. Older kids would likely be a great fit for him too.

Otis would thrive in a home that will continue giving him guidance, activity, and love while including him as part of the family. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but his biggest wish is simply having people to do life with.

If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, adventure ready companion with lots of personality, Otis may be your perfect match 💛
