Otis's Story

Meet Otis — Looking for His Forever Foster or adopter
Some dogs spend their lives waiting for the perfect family. Otis has spent his waiting for someone to see the sweet, gentle soul behind those baby blue senior eyes and decide that his age and medical needs don’t make him any less deserving of love.
Otis is a 12–14-year-old Australian Shepherd who is as laid-back and loving as they come. He’s not looking for long walks, endless adventures, or a busy household. What Otis wants is simple: a soft bed, a peaceful home, a little sunshine, and someone who will love him for whatever time he has left. He has so much love still to give, and we want to give him the chance to experience what it feels like to truly belong to someone.
Otis is heavily heartworm positive and has no teeth, but please don't let those things make you overlook this sweet boy. Depending on his overall health and what his veterinarian recommends, he may be a candidate for a slow-kill heartworm treatment. What he needs most right now is a forever foster home where he can rest, relax, and live the quiet life he deserves while receiving the care and love he needs.
We aren't asking someone to give Otis a perfect future. We're asking someone to give him a loving one. Whether he has months or years ahead of him, every single day should be filled with comfort, kindness, and the feeling of being home.
Could you be the person who gives this sweet senior boy his happily-ever-after?
Otis doesn't need a mansion. He doesn't need adventures. He just needs someone to say, "You're home now."

Redfield Friends of the Animals Rescue's Adoption Policy
If you are interested in adopting an animal, you first must fill out an application. An adoption counselor will look over the application and verify any information with landlords, past/present veterinarians, and also do a background check. In most cases, we will require any potential adopters to meet and interact with the animal before putting it on hold. Since most of our animals are in foster homes, we will need to arrange a meet and greet with you and the foster parent and potential animal. We list our animals as adoptable when they are pulled to the foster home. Once there, they will be fully vetted. Some of our animals are waiting on spay/neuter appointments. Arkansas state law requires all animals be spay/neutered before adoptions. If you’re interested in one that hasn’t been “fixed” and your application approved, we will put a hold on that animal, as soon as their vetting is finished, they will be able to come to your home. We rarely allow an animal to go h
