Otis's Story

Meet Otis!! He is a Yorkie who weighs 8 pounds. He was born approximately 3/1/2023.

Otis came to us as an owner surrender. We quickly noticed Otis had urinary issues. He was taken to the vet where we found out he had a huge stone taking up his whole bladder. He was immediately taken into emergency surgery to remove it. Unfortunately this is due to diet, therefore, he will have to be on a special prescription CD kidney food! If he does not stay on the prescription food or is given any table food, the stone will return quickly and will require another expensive surgery.

Otis is full of life and loves to play so it important for him to have another dog to play with. He’s very good with kids and dogs of all sizes. He does well in a crate but he’s so good the foster never had to lock him in his kennel. He willingly goes to it but does not need to stay in one. Otis is vocal and lets you know he’s around.

He’s currently eating prescription Science Diet CD Urinary Food and once again he NEEDS to stay on this for a lifetime.

Otis’s adoption fee is $175 - he is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on heart worm prevention . If you are good with the expensive food and knowing he has to stay on it, and you want to meet him please email adoptions.spspca@gmail.com to set a meeting.
