Otis's Story
Age is just a number to Otis and he's bound and determined to prove that to anyone he meets! 8.5 years young still means no limits in Pug mentality...he's happy, he's goofy, he's on the go and making up for lost time! If he doesn't greet you tongue out, giant smile and toes tapping, it's probably not Otis.

Otis spent 8.5 years in a breeding kennel. That's a very long time for any dog, but for a Pug who's greatest wish in life is to prance around, cause a little disturbance and make up for it in laughs so he's still invited to sleep next to you in bed...it starts to feel like an eternity. Otis comes with no shortage of Pug. His personality fills a room, any room, the biggest rooms and even knowing nothing but life in a kennel, he sure walks into a place like he owns it! He's got the looks, the prance and the mischievous side to make true Pug lovers swoon. He's a husky boy at 23lbs and while we'd like him to lose a pound or two, he strongly disagrees. A Pug who loves food? We know you're shocked. His true passion for snacks has been very helpful in building confidence (not that he really needs more) and establishing routines MUCH different than what he's spent his whole life doing.

Otis has adapted well to living in a home. So well that he thinks he's paying the mortgage at his foster's. Step aside current residents, Otis has places to be and good spots to sniff. He's a bit of...well, a lot of a bulldozer and we're convinced he's constantly trying to figure out your next move before you've even decided what it is. It also could be that he has some significant sight loss in his right eye but he acts like he's 2 years old so he makes that hard to believe. Otis had trauma to his eye at some point in his life and sadly it was never treated so it healed on its own but not properly. The eye certainly doesn't bother him but we're not sure two broken legs would slow this guy down. You'd also think his tiny nose and brachycephalic face might make him a couch potato at his age. No folks, there's no such thing as potatoes in Otis's world unless they're for eating. Instead, he'll sound like a dump truck with the radiator about to blow rolling through the house to make sure he doesn't miss out on anything. He's a shadow to his people, alright. If you like to pace when you talk on the phone, expect a Pug to go around in circles with you.

All jokes aside, Otis is as happy and sweet as they come. He does very well with other dogs and cats. He'd probably have more kitty friends if they didn't think he was an alien from another planet who, in his excitement, sounds like a creature of unknown origin. It's just who he is and boy, does he own it! Otis really loves people, like a heck of a lot and since gaining his freedom, he'd really prefer to be with his trained humans whenever possible. Sure, he'll behave himself in that crate thing but we also think he'd do very well left out after he's settled in to his new Castle de Pug.

Since losing his dangly, man parts, Otis has been doing wonderful with potty training and is no longer marking. Took him 8.5 years to be potty trained, but hey, who believes that "can't teach an old dog new tricks" lie anyway? Otis doesn't!

When Otis has his fill for the day or more like his little legs can't take anymore, he's perfectly content to lay at your feet. He's not quite figured out that the 20 dog beds lying around are much more comfortable than the tile floor but we can't call him the sharpest crayon in the box. We can call him the longest lasting, brightest color though. This guy has so much life, love and Pug antics to share with his forever family and we can't wait for those crazy but absolutely perfect folks to find this guy! No seriously, come get him. He's asked us to hurry the hell up so he can stop wasting his time in these "temporary accommodations!" Please have lots of stuffy toys, jerky treats and empty hands for butt scratches!

Anyway, Otis's adoption fee includes his neuter, dental with extractions, senior bloodwork, microchip, heartworm/tick borne illness testing, vaccines, deworming and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Send us a message with any questions or fill out an adoption application to come meet this hunk of perfect Pug!
