Orion's Story

Meet Orion – Our Gentle Giant

Orion is a beautiful Anatolian Shepherd mix with a gentle soul and a quiet spirit. We estimate he is between 11⁄2 and 2 years old.

Orion was found roaming near a church in Coachella, where he had reportedly been surviving on his own for several weeks before finally making his way to safety. After spending so much time fending for himself, Orion arrived understandably shut down, fearful, and unsure of the world around him.

While we're still getting to know him, one thing is clear—there is a very sweet dog hiding behind those cautious eyes. Orion is calm and gentle, but he needs time, patience, and kindness to build trust and feel secure. Recently, a neighbor of his foster family gave him a stuffed toy, and for the first time, Orion seemed to relax and let his guard down. Watching him happily carry and chew on that toy gave us a glimpse of the young dog he's meant to be.

Orion is looking for a compassionate home that will allow him to blossom at his own pace. He doesn't need someone to rush him—he needs someone who will show him that he never has to survive on his own again.

If you have a soft spot for the underdogs and the shy souls who just need a chance, Orion may be waiting for you.
