Orion came into rescue with his mom and siblings, and while they’ve all found their forever families, he is still waiting for his special person. We don’t know exactly what this little family endured before coming to us, but all of the puppies arrived scared of the world—especially humans. Orion has struggled the most with his confidence, though it’s clear he wants love and attention. It just takes him time to trust and feel safe.<br/><br/>Orion recently moved to a new foster home, and although timid at first, he has already shown how resilient and eager to learn he is. Within just two days, he was walking beautifully on leash for his foster mom, crating easily, and exploring the yard with curiosity. Sudden movements still make him cower, but his foster continues to gently guide him and build his confidence each day. With patience and consistency, Orion has the potential to blossom into a loyal, loving companion.<br/><br/>This boy finds comfort in the company of other dogs and does well with canine friends—he will even seek them out for play and reassurance. He did well with cats in his previous foster home, is crate trained, and hasn’t had any accidents. Orion is also treat-motivated, which will help him continue building trust. Deep down, he truly desires a bond with people; he just needs someone who is willing to give him the time, love, and patience he deserves.<br/><br/>We are hoping to find Orion a very special adopter who understands that his journey may require extra time, compassion, and possibly even the help of a professional trainer to fully overcome his fears. His adoption fee has already been reduced and partially sponsored, and we are working to have the remainder covered so finances are not a barrier to his success.<br/><br/>Orion has been neutered, microchipped, and is current on his DAPP vaccines (he still needs his rabies vaccine). If you’ve ever dreamed of giving a shy but deserving pup the chance to blossom into the dog he was meant to be, Orion may be the one for you.<br/><br/>Orion requires a fenced yard.<br/><br/>Orion's meet and greet will be in Centralia.
