Orion's Story
NOTE: Please read our entire write-up before contacting us. If you don't know the age, breed, weight, what vet care we provide our dogs, the adoption fee, or how to apply, you have not read the write-up.

Orion

Breed: Lhasa mix
DOB: 5-22-2017
Gender: Male, neutered
Weight: 14.5 pounds
Microchipped
Adoption Fee: $300

Orion is such a riot! He LOVES toys! Sadly, one of the other dogs in his foster home is also a toy hoarder. So the two of them wait for the other to leave a toy behind and then they steal it! Orion works to get all the toys into his own crate while the other dog works to get all the toys into his crate!

This little guy is a laughable, happy dog! He's also a bit of a handful! He needs a plenty of exercise and LOVES going for walks and hikes! With all the parks, Greenway trails and places to explore in our area, he will have a never ending chance for adventure!

Orion is reactive on leash to other dogs and SOME people. We haven't figured out his trigger yet, but currently do not allow people or other dogs to just walk up to him and interact. It is our job and the job of his adopter to protect him from people who think all dogs are their friend and from rude dogs that like to rush up on strange dogs. Basic dog training gone awry. He will need ongoing leash work, preferably with a leadership based trainer. He does NOT need a trainer who uses shock collars (i.e. know your trainer).

Overall we have loved having Orion in our program! He has met a lot of people and other dogs and is fine with those he knows. He has stranger danger. We are seeking an experienced home for Orion that has successfully trained a dog in the past to walk politely on a leash. Don't look at the breed, look at the dog. He's fantastic in the right hands!

Good w/ Other Dogs- Yes
Good w/ Cats- Unknown
Energy Level- Moderate to high
Children- Teens possibly
Grooming Needs- High
Walks on Leash- Yes and learning not to pull.
