Oreo - Sweet and petite brother of Spot and Jake!'s Story

Little Oreo is completely adorable, as you can see!

This poor baby was part of a horrific neglect case, and then held in isolation for months at a county shelter.

We were finally able to save him and 4 others from the case (so far!), and they are wonderful little dogs!!

Oreo is the most shy of the 3 brothers, but he is very affectionate and sweet with his foster mom! He is in a home with other dogs and a cat, and while he was afraid of all of them at the start (the other dogs are very large!) he is doing well now!

We would like for Oreo to go to a home with another dog who is gentle to give him confidence.

Oreo will need a home on the quieter side, so if kids in the home they should be older. He will definitely need time and patience to adjust (again) to a new home. But he is so worth it!!

After the trauma he's endured, and living his life in a small cage without the opportunity to "go out", Oreo's housetraining is in progress. He will require an owner who is willing and able to continue that training with positive reinforcement, keeping him on a schedule, and patience.

Oreo is 1.5 years old and about 17 lbs. Rescue Pals, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in one of our Pals! Our adoption fees for dogs are: Puppies up to 1 Year Old : $400 Adult Dogs 1 - 9 Years : $350 Senior Dogs 10 - 12 Years : $300 Super Senior Dogs 12 + Years : $150 Kittens up to 1 Year Old : $125 Adult Cats 1 - 12 Years : $95 Senior Cats 12 + Years : $75 If multiple cats/kittens are adopted to the same home at the same time, each kitty after the first (youngest) will have their fee reduced by $25. All dogs and cats are or will be: spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Here is our adoption process: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Applicants must be ready for a new pet to come home immediately after the entire adoption process is complete and approved. We are not able to hold animals if you have travel coming up, etc., so please be prepared to make arrangements for your new pet if that is the case. After submitting an application, your information will be reviewed and a vet check will be done for your current and past pets (going back 5 years). Your pets should be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Veterinary medical exceptions will be taken into consideration for any of those items. If you and the pet you are applying for seem like a great fit, a member of our adoption team will contact you for a telephone interview. After that, a home check will be done, and then a meet and greet (maybe at the same time!). If all is well and everyone agrees that this is the right new family member for you, the adoption can be finalized at that time! Please note that we are an all-volunteer organization, and in some cases when multiple applications come in for the same pet we may not be able to respond to each applicant. If a pet no longer appears on Petfinder, it means he or she has been adopted. Applying for a pet does not place that animal on hold, or guarantee approval. Our goal is to make the very best match that will last a lifetime for the pet, so we hope everyone can understand and appreciate that. If your application is approved through 1st review and vet check, but we don't feel that the pet you're interested in is the right fit, we may suggest another who we feel would be a better fit for your lifestyle/what you're looking for. Thank you so much again for your interest in adopting a Pal, and helping us save lives!
