Oreo in IA's Story
The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Oreo (female)! I'm a 7-year-old and 22-pounds. I am a retired breeder. I am being fostered in Des Moines, Iowa.

After spending my life with a breeder, everything about the world is still new to me—but every day I'm becoming a little braver, a little more confident, and a lot more fun!

At my core, I'm a goofy, happy girl who loves to run around, soak up attention, and make people smile. I've recently discovered that walks are actually pretty exciting, and I'm having so much fun exploring the world one step at a time. I've also learned that bones and stuffed toys are amazing, but one of my favorite places to be is curled up beside my favorite person on the couch.

Because I'm still learning that people are kind, I can be a little startled if hands move toward me too quickly. Once I realize you're just there to give me love, I'm all about the pets and affection.

I'm wonderful with other dogs and have gained so much confidence by following my foster siblings' lead. Because of that, I'd love a home with another friendly, confident dog to help me continue learning how great life can be. I'd also do best with someone who's home often, as I can get anxious when left alone in my kennel.

One of my favorite parts of the day is snuggling up in bed with my foster family, and I'd be thrilled if my forever family would let me continue that tradition. Since stairs are still a new challenge for me, a home with few or no stairs would also help me feel more comfortable.

If you're looking for a sweet, silly companion who is blossoming into the most loving little dog, I just might be your perfect match. I can't wait to find the family who will show me what forever love feels like.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? Working on it
Leash-trained? Yes!
Rides well in car? Yes, but a little nervous
Good with other dogs? Yes
Good with cats? Not yet tested
Good with young children? Older children would be best right now
Good with strangers? Yes
Shy or confident? Confident
Barks? Rarely
Apartment qualified? As long as I have plenty of time in the grass every day!
Any Special needs or Health Issues? Chicken allergy.
Adoption Fee? $ 325

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application. We will respond back to you within 72 hours of receiving your application.

Interested in Donating visit https://www.adoptaboston.com/donate
