Oreo's Story

Oreo is an adorable 7 month old, 10 lb. puppy who will immediately melt your heart. She is very curious & highly alert to her surroundings. She likes being held for a bit but often prefers chilling in her bed right next to you.
She’s not quite potty trained but very regular. She is very good at giving you a signal (quiet whimper when she’s in her crate overnight; walking in circles when she’s out during the day). She doesn’t like to be crated but goes in easily. Overnight she is crated & she’s ok w/ it then.
Oreo loves playing fetch & going for a fast run. She is very energetic so definitely needs direction or she goes all over the place. She does pull a little on leash, but is learning. Oreo is good w/ meeting other dogs & doesn’t chase after birds or squirrels.
All in all, she’s a perfect match for a person/family looking for a dog w/ all the basics almost covered but willing to do a little work getting her across the finish line!

If you are interested in one of our puppies, the first step is to go to our website and fill out an application. https://placingpawsrescue.org/applications/dog-application/

BEFORE CONSIDERING A PUPPY FOR ADOPTION: Please keep in mind that puppies need attention during the day. They need frequent potty breaks, playtime, socialization and often a mid day meal. Please consider your daytime schedule before applying for a puppy.

SPAY/NEUTER POLICY: Our adoption fee covers the puppies spay or neuter at our vet in Libertyville. If the puppy is adopted prior to the spay or neuter being done you will be required to bring the puppy back to our vet within 30 days for the surgery.

ADOPTION FEE: $450.00 The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, HW test if age appropriate, de-worming, microchip, fecal, spay or neuter, Heartworm and flea and tick preventative.

ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org.
Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possibly. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed. The best way to contact us is by email at placingpaws@yahoo.com. It is very difficult for the limited numbers of volunteers to return all calls. Thank you.
