HE CAN COME TO IOWA ON OUR NEXT TRANSPORT.

Oreo is an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie-type mix who came to us as an owner surrender in Texas and is now looking for a forever family of his own.

Oreo is a sweet, excitable boy with plenty of energy and personality. He loves ice, rolling around in the grass, going for walks, playing, and exploring everything around him. He is also very much in the phase of wanting to put just about everything in his mouth, so continued supervision and redirection will be important while he learns what is and isnt a chew toy.

Oreo is potty trained and walks well on a leash. He is crate trained to an extent and can settle in his crate, though he may whine for a few minutes when left alone. He tends to do better if another dog is nearby and may bark if he sees another dog leaving the house without him.

Oreo does well with other dogs, but his high-energy play style may be a little much for dogs that prefer a calmer companion. He is also very good at entertaining himself and enjoys independent play, although like any energetic young dog, he still needs plenty of interaction and activity throughout the day.

Oreo currently knows sit and no and is continuing to learn. Stairs have been a bit of a challenge for him, but his foster is working on building his confidence with them and he is making progress.

Oreo would do best with a family prepared for an active, smart dog who will benefit from continued training, enrichment, and plenty of opportunities to burn off energy. In return, youll get a goofy, loving companion who is always ready for the next adventure.

Oreo is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, on monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450.

If youre interested in pre-adopting Oreo and giving him the forever home he deserves, please complete our adoption application linked below.
