Oreo's Story

Oreo was found as a stray in mid-April 2026 and had a tough start, arriving at the shelter very shy and shut down. While he can still be a bit nervous, he’s slowly gaining confidence and settling in more each day.

This little guy feels most comfortable around small dogs—big dogs can be a bit overwhelming for him. Oreo would do best in a calm, quiet home without small children, as loud noises and busy environments can make him anxious.

He’s looking for a patient, understanding person who will give him the time and space he needs to feel safe and truly come out of his shell. In return, Oreo will be a devoted companion to call your own!

*Note: All of Sam's Place dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered and UTD on vaccines and preventatives, unless otherwise noted. We also don't guarantee house training, as they may have accidents in new environments, but please ask about an individual dog for more information.

*Meet Our Pups: https://samscaninerescue.com/group/available/

*Adoption Process: https://samscaninerescue.com/adopt/adoption-process/

*Adoption Application: https://samscaninerescue.com/adopt/application/
- We will contact your vet references to make sure current, or past, pets are spayed/neutered and UTD on vaccines and heartworm prevention.

*For more info, please email our Rescue Administrator at info@samscaninerescue.com or call 207-542-3052

*Location: Southern Pines, NC

*Follow us on social media!
- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61572244952067
- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/samsplacecaninerescue/
