Orchid's Story
Date Written: 4/26/26
Updated: 5/5/26

Meet Orchid 🌸

Soft, sweet, and a little shy, Orchid is the definition of a gentle soul.

Miss Orchis is a female, pitbull terrier, with an estimated birthday of April 2024! She came to B&B as an owner surrender at no fault of her own and is adjusting to life in her foster home well! This girl is on the smaller side, around 40 lbs, a perfect pocket sized pitty!

This affectionate girl loves nothing more than being close to her people. Whether she’s curled up in bed, soaking up pets, or quietly following you around the house, Orchid finds comfort in connection and just wants to be near those she trusts.

She may be a little timid at first, especially around new people, loud noises, or passing cars, but she’s growing braver every day. With patience and reassurance, her personality continues to blossom into the loving, loyal companion she’s meant to be.

Orchid has a slight limp from a past injury, but it doesn’t slow her down. She still enjoys jumping up on the couch, getting the occasional zoomies, and being part of everyday life. She’s also working on gaining weight after a tough start and is doing great with consistent care and love.

She’s fully house trained, crate trained, and knows “sit,” “come,” and “crate”- the smartest girl! She’s still building confidence on leash, especially around cars, so a quieter home environment will help her feel safe and supported. She is getting more and more confident each day!

What makes her special: One of the cuddliest dogs you’ll ever meet, a true lap snuggler
If Orchid were a character: Piglet, gentle and a little unsure at times, but so brave with love and support
Dating Headline: Looking for something serious (serious cuddling!)
Superpower: Expert-level lap snuggler 💕
From Orchid: “I’m so excited to have consistent food, love, and a home to call my own.”

She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed, spayed, microchipped, and is on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of age-appropriate core vaccinations and cost of care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. To apply to adopt Orchid, visit www.beaglesandbentleys.org/adopt.

Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.

Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
