Opie's Story
Opie is one of our shelter fire survivors. He is bright, knows how to sit, wait, lay down and working on some other commands. Opie had initially been adopted as a puppy into a home with 5 children and then returned. The household chaos and noise made him anxious so now we are looking for a quieter home for him. We were told after playing and tiring himself out, he loved to cuddle up and take a nap on the couch. He loves long walks, treats, playing with his toys and giving kisses. Opie walks very nice on a leash and is friendly to other dogs he meets. We do not know what he thinks of cats. He is very bright, knows how to sit, wait, lay down and working on some other commands. Opie is about 1 year old and 52 pounds.

Update: Opie had tested positive for Ehrlicchia, a common tick borne disease similar to Lyme's. He has already completed his course of antibiotic treatment and is feeling great!

We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821).

Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes.

If you are interested in adopting, we encourage you to please submit an application on our website today so that we can try and process and pre-approve any potential adopters prior to our next adoption event.

PLEASE USE THIS LINK TO SUBMIT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.
