Opal - O Litter Mom - FOSTER NEEDED's Story

Meet Opal, a beautiful momma who is officially ready to retire from motherhood and enjoy some well-deserved “me time.”

Opal recently welcomed a litter of puppies and has done an amazing job, but she is more than ready to hand in her mom badge and start focusing on herself again. She's looking for a calm, pet-free foster home where she can decompress, let her hormones settle, and show us who she is outside of mom life.

What we do know so far is that Opal is wonderful with people. She's done well with kids 5+ and enjoys human companionship, making her a lovely houseguest for a foster willing to give her a soft place to land. She has not shown any separation concerns and seems to settle in well with her people.

Right now, Opal needs to be the only pet in the home. Her behavior around other dogs is still unknown while she is coming off of mom duties, and she is very fixated on small animals, so no small dogs or cats.

Opal is at the perfect point to start her next chapter. With a little time, stability, and care, we'll be able to learn more about her personality and set her up for future success. If you're able to give this deserving girl a quiet place to relax and reset, Opal will be so grateful.

If you are interested in Fostering Opal, please fill out a foster application at: https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/foster-application or send an email to foster@forgottendogsrescue.com.

When you foster with Forgotten Dogs, we supply all food, equipment, training support and vet care.
