Opal - AVAILABLE's Story

If Opal had a love language, it would be you. And also snacks. Can't forget about snacks!

Opal is an affectionate, doting, and delightfully rambunctious girl whose favorite place is wherever her humans happen to be. Sitting on the couch? She'll happily climb into your lap. Going for a walk? She's ready. Handing out treats? Congratulations, you've just become her favorite person. Opal wants nothing more than to love her people with her whole heart, and she's pretty convinced everyone she meets has best-friend potential.

When she isn't busy soaking up affection, Opal loves a good game of tug-of-war, tossing her toys through the air, expertly removing their squeakers, and keeping the local squirrel population on notice. She's even been known to chase the occasional bumblebee. After a hard day's work, you can find her recharging in her preferred position: completely upside down!

Opal currently lives with young children and does wonderfully with kids of all ages. She's also a clever girl who knows some tricks, including sit and recall, and her training has come a long way. She's eager to keep learning with a family who will cheer her on.

Opal would love to be your one and only dog, soaking up all the attention for herself. She can get excited by other dogs and critters, so she'll be happiest with people who can help her navigate those moments and continue building on all the progress she's already made. A home and neighborhood where she can enjoy her walks and downtime without constant four-legged distractions would be a great fit.

Opal is estimated to have been born in May 2023 and weighs 53 lbs. Opal is a pit bull type dog and what she really wants is simple: people to adore, a lap to occupy, adventures to join, and perhaps a generous treat budget. If you've been looking for one dog to pour all your love into, Opal is ready to return the favor!

Opal's adoption fee is $450. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old.

Fill out an adoption application for Opal at: https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/adoption-application
