We are looking for a loving hospice home for sweet Opal. This tiny girl is 8 pounds of perfection and deserves to be spoiled rotten for the rest of her life.<br/><br/>She is 16 years old and spends most of the day sleeping comfortably in her bed. We're happy to report that she's a very good eater and enjoys her soft food, which we serve in an elevated bowl to keep her comfortable and prevent her from straining her neck.<br/><br/>During her vet exam, the doctors noted that the iris in her left eye has atrophied. This is a common age-related condition and may make her left eye more sensitive to bright light. Her right eye was inflamed, so she was prescribed a medicated ointment. Opal does have a few small mammary growths, but surgery is not recommended due to her advanced age. Her blood work only showed mild elevations, but nothing that the veterinarian found especially concerning.<br/><br/>Opal is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and recently had full blood work.
