Onyx's Story

Meet Onyx 🖤

Certified sweet baby? Tiny shadow with emotional growth arc? Yes.

Onyx is around 22 lbs and still growing into himself... both physically and emotionally. He came to us from a Central Texas shelter alongside his mom and siblings after they were all mysteriously “found” together and surrendered. Since the whole family had docked tails, we suspect they may have come from a backyard breeding situation. Thankfully, multiple Texas Aussie rescues stepped in so every dog made it out safely. ❤️

Onyx is the kind of dog who starts off shy and observant, quietly trying to figure out if the world is safe. He’ll need a patient home willing to let him settle in at his own pace. But once that trust clicks into place? You get to watch his whole personality bloom. 🥹
He absolutely loves playing with his foster dog siblings and would thrive in a home with other pups to help continue building his confidence. Toys, balls, zoomies with friends? Fully his thing. He’s really started showing off his playful side lately, and it’s been so fun watching him learn how to just be a happy dog.

✨ Onyx perks:
• House trained
• Crate trained
• Great with other dogs
• Gentle + affectionate
• Loves toys and balls
• Professional couch cuddler once comfy

He’s soft-hearted, loving, and the kind of dog that makes earning his trust feel extra special.

If you’re patient enough to let him come out of his shell, Onyx is going to be an incredible little companion. 🖤🐾
