Hi I’m Onyx! I’m a 2-year-old, Blue Merle female and I’m on the smaller side (around 90 lbs.) But don’t let my size fool you – I’m a little powerhouse! I’m strong, very fast and love to play hard with my foster Great Dane brother. I would probably do best with a family that has a big dog to play with & fenced yard to zoom around in. I am super smart & very food motivated, so I should be easy to train.

When I first arrived at my foster’s home, I peed in the house a handful of times out of fear, but once I trusted them, I stopped that & have been housebroken since! I have lived with teenagers and two smaller dogs but not familiar with cats or small children. I’m open to seeing how I would do with cats, but I may do best with older kids since I am familiar with them. I am crate trained, and my foster parents have let me out for a few hours & I didn’t chew up or make a mess!

My foster parents say I have a report card and below are my updates!
• Riding in the car: A- One area I have really improved on is riding in the car. I used to get very overwhelmed & my foster parents couldn’t take me anywhere. But now, I even go with them to do Meals on Wheels! I got dinged, because I still bark once in a blue moon.

• Barking in the house: C but I’m working on it! I like to let you know when the delivery person is coming or if a dog is walking by the house. I’m so much better now when they ask me to stop though, so I think my grade should be higher!

• Walking on a leash: B+ I don’t really pull anymore! I lost points, because I bark at dogs that bark at me and that’s when I still pull.

• Coming when called: A+ I don’t even run off if I get loose!

I am looking for a kind, patient family that will use my smarts to help me keep improving my grades & love me unconditionally. I am UTD on vaccinations, spayed & had a gastropexy done.
