Ollie's Story

Hey everyone! My name is Ollie, and I'm ready to find my forever home! I am a Bernese mountain dog mix, and I am just 5 months old! Although I look small in size now, everyone at the shelter keeps telling me that I'll be a big boy before I know it!

Before I tell you about my interests, let me tell you a little bit about my story. Before I was rescued by PAWS, I was outside and alone for quite some time. I was scared and hungry, trying to find my way back home, or at least to somewhere safe. I would try and find food and shelter, but didn't have any luck.

One day, I walked up to this huge building called Coca-Cola. I thought someone there could help me, and thankfully, they did! They saw me and immediately called PAWS. A nice lady from PAWS came to the shop shortly after to take me to the shelter, and boy, was I happy to finally have some food and clean water!

They noticed that I was very itchy and had been scratching myself raw for what looked like some time. They immediately jumped into action with bathing me, brushing me, giving me meds to help with the itching, and they did it all with so much care and love. They told me that I was such a good boy, and that I would never have to worry about being unsafe or out on my own ever again.

Since then, I have been feeling great! I no longer itch, and I'm starting to put on some good weight! I even have my own special toy that I get to play with all day long! I'm learning a lot about myself here, like that I love to play fetch and to get tummy rubs. I also really enjoy getting cuddles and being held, even though the shelter staff keeps telling me I’ll be too big to be a lap dog!

I really hope I can find a home soon. I do great with dogs and cats, and children, and would do amazing in a family home. Come down to the shelter and give me a shot! I promise you won't want to leave without me!
