Oliver's Story

Oliver & Simba are basically what would happen if somebody took two tiny shadows, added puppy breath and happiness, and turned them loose into the world together.

These little rat terrier mix brothers are nearly identical and absolutely precious — sleek black coats, expressive little faces, and the kind of puppy eyes that make people immediately start talking in a higher voice without realizing it. They are sweet, playful, affectionate, social, dog-friendly, cat-friendly, people-friendly, and fully convinced every living creature they meet is probably there to love them.

And honestly? They’re not entirely wrong.

Oliver is a little more thoughtful and observant at first. He likes to take a second to look things over before jumping in, like a tiny little gentleman gathering information. Simba, meanwhile, tends to move through life with the enthusiasm of somebody who just heard there might be snacks involved.

Together, they balance each other out perfectly.

The boys are still babies, so they’re learning all the normal puppy things — potty training, routines, toys, confidence, and why humans apparently care so much about shoes being left alone. But both puppies are wonderfully affectionate and deeply connected to people already. The kind of puppies that naturally follow you room to room just because they want to be wherever you are.

Their mama is only around 25–30 pounds, so we expect both boys to stay on the smaller side full grown — compact little companions with huge personalities and endless love to give.

And these boys are LOVABLE lovable.

The kind of puppies that fall asleep touching each other after playtime. The kind that come trotting over every time you sit on the floor because obviously that means it’s now a family meeting. The kind that make a house feel softer and happier almost immediately.

You can already picture them racing through the yard together, passing out mid-playtime in dramatic little puppy piles, or quietly following behind you through the house like tiny emotional support assistants trying their absolute best to help with daily operations.

And while they’re brothers, they are available for adoption separately.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Oliver and Simba are currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
