Olive (CP) Chihuahua Mix Dallas, TX

Olive was saved from euthanasia at a local, overcrowded shelter, being deemed "too fearful" to be adopted. In just 1 short week after being given time to decompress and come out of her fearful shell, she made huge progress and is a different dog - she's SUCH a little lover. All she wants is to be right next to you, preferably curled up in your lap all the time! She's still fearful of
new people at first, but after a low key introduction, a yummy treat and the willingness to be patient and let her come to you at first, all is good. She absolutely LOVES and ADORES her foster family members (children included) and does an excited dance, with lots of kisses when you come in the door!
Olive is about 4-5 years old, 9 lbs, housebroken, crate trained, and has the cutest little underbite smile! As she has come of her shell, she is starting to be playful - playing with toys, running around with short bursts of energy. The ideal home for Olive is one that is willing to be patient and give her a little time to adjust (it doesn't take long), and then shower her with lots of love, routine and lap time. I think she would be particularly great for an older person who wants a lap dog, and I think she would enjoy living with dogs her size. Cats are unknown, but I think she would be fine with them.
