Oakley's Story
Oakley is a 13 month old Great Pyrenees/Coonhound mix. He's a big lovable goofball in need of structure and training. Currently, he behaves like a very exuberant 85 lb puppy. Oakley will do best with an adopter who will work with him to learn some manners, and give him structure and plenty of exercise. He's very engaging, likes attention, and is affectionate and loyal with his people Oakley is housebroken, knows some obedience commands ( sit, down, wait, leave it),. He lived with 3 other dogs at his foster home. He can sometimes get overstimulated around other dogs and is an insistent playmate who does not always read other dog's signals. He is calming down slowly now that he's been neutered, but he needs to make progress with socialization around other dogs as well as people. Oakley lost his first home in Virginia due to a change in the owner's situation. He came to Massachusetts and spent 3 months in a foster home before being adopted. That placement did not work out due to Oakley's energy level, lack of a fenced yard, owner's time schedules and busy household. Oakley is currently boarding at a kennel and is located northwest of Boston for visits.
If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below.
Application link (please copy and paste into your browser's address bar)
https://ws.ishelters.com/application.php?k=coonhOUnd&t=Coonhound%20Adoption

About our rescue
We are a foster based rescue.
