Meet Nyx - a Leonberger/Coonhound mix! About the size of a slender Great Dane, Nyx is both beautiful and intelligent with a playful side once she knows and trust you. <br/>Nyx came from a quieter home environment and hasn't had much exposure to new people outside her family, so understandably, the shelter was a little overwhelming at first. She took some time warming up to staff, but now that she has settled into the routine, her personality is truly starting. She has become more affectionate, goofy and eager to interact with the people she trusts. <br/>Her former owner describes her as smart, playful and naturally protective over her home and family. Nyx tends to warm up quickly to men, lived with another dog but can be selective about her canine companions, so any potential dog siblings would need a proper meet and greet. <br/>Nyx was showing discomfort around the former home's 10-month old child so she would do best in a home without small children.
