Nyx's Story

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Nyx is a petite, one-year-old Shih Tzu/Terrier mix (born February 2025) weighing just 9–10 pounds. This sweet girl is spayed, up to date on vaccines, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped—ready to find her forever home!

Nyx came to us after her owner sadly became unhoused. She had been with her family since birth and lived among several other pets, so she’s familiar with both dogs and cats.

When Nyx first arrived in foster care, she was understandably nervous and unsure. After just a few days, she realized she was safe—and her personality has truly started to shine. She’s blossomed into a playful, affectionate little pup who absolutely loves being talked to, cuddled, and doted on. Call her name and you’ll be rewarded with tail wags and the sweetest, bashful expression—her expressive eyes say it all!

Nyx loves to stay close to family, even lying on your feet, so she will be best in a home that does not include any older unstable senior folks since she could accidentally cause you to trip over her

Nyx is still a bit shy, especially with new people and men, and tends to bond closely with her primary caregiver. Because of her sheltered start, she will need a patient adopter willing to give her time and reassurance as she adjusts to a new environment.

She’s still very much a puppy at heart and is working on her potty habits, improving with a consistent schedule. Her previous owner noted a possible grain sensitivity in her lineage, so Nyx is currently thriving on a grain-free salmon-based diet that’s gentle on her stomach.

Nyx was recently spayed and has a grooming appointment scheduled in May—her full “spa day” glow-up is on the way!

We are continuing to learn more about Nyx as she settles into foster care, and her profile will be updated as we discover more about her unique personality.
If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who will reward your patience with endless affection, Nyx just might be your girl.

Adoption donation $250

Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.
