Nygel's Story

**If interested, please do not send us a message through PetFinder. Instead, please go to our website to fill out an application: www.projectpawsdogrescue.com. The adoption fee is $975.**

Nygel is about a year old, mixed breed dog weighing about 12lbs. We do not know his breed. He is coming to us from a high kill shelter within Canada.

Nygel is alittle shy with people at first, but when he warms up, he is happy to come in for some affection. When he's nervous, his first instinct is to escape or run towards a person he trusts. He has a nervous energy but settles when he feels safe. Even when he is uncertain or afraid, he has never tried to nip—he mostly just wants to get away so he could be a flight risk in the beginning. Once he deems a person is trustworthy, he doesn't mind being a bit of a lap dog and can be very cuddly.

With other dogs, he is fantastic. He has not been tested with cats or children yet.

Nygel is doing excellent in his crate, and we are still working on the housetraining and leash skills. Nygel is very smart and sweet. He picks things up very quickly and would make an excellent companion for someone who enjoys training. He is too smart to waste it! He does have some puppy energy as he is still quite young, but he is very eager to learn and please.

Nygel is currently undergoing his vetting, including vaccinations and his neuter in the coming weeks, but we are accepting applications on him now.

If you're interested in adopting or learning more about Nygel, please submit an application directly on our website.
