He's happy, affectionate, playful, and somehow already has better house manners than many adult dogs. While he'd absolutely love a canine sibling to romp around with, he'd also be perfectly happy as an only dog if his people are home most of the day to give him plenty of love and attention.<br/><br/>He's won over the resident cat, too! At first she wasn't so sure about this goofy puppy, but now she happily hangs out while Nugget sniffs her, follows her around, and tries his best to become her best friend. (She's still not interested in cuddling—but she's definitely accepted him!)<br/><br/>Kids? Nugget adores them. He's gentle, patient, and never minds random hugs or being picked up. His favorite response is either showering them with kisses or happily soaking up all the attention.<br/><br/>And here's the best part—he's a puppy without all the puppy chaos! Yes, he'll still have those silly "land shark" moments as he grows, but he's incredibly easygoing for his age. He sleeps soundly in his crate every night, and if left alone for a couple of hours, he simply relaxes instead of redecorating the house. No furniture chewing. No puppy destruction. Just a good boy waiting for his people to come home.<br/><br/>We don't know exactly what breeds make up this adorable Oreo-cookie look, but we do know his mom weighs just 25 pounds. Two of his siblings have matching DNA results, so while Dad remains a mystery (do better, mystery dad dogs! ), Nugget is expected to stay a nice medium size—likely under 45 pounds when fully grown.<br/><br/>The truth is, Nugget is one of those rare puppies who seems to fit into just about any loving home. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.<br/><br/>The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.<br/><br/>To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household.
