Nubz American Staffordshire Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Sherwood, OR

Nubz is a large and very adorable bulldog/mastiff mix (?). We believe him to be 4-5 years old and a very well-built 80lbs.

This charming beefcake was found early one morning, when a staff member was on their way in to work. This large, very friendly, bulldog mix was found roaming the streets near Ace Hardware on Washington Blvd. He was as happy as could be and came running, nubby little tail wagging ever so quickly. After gaining some trust he hopped right into their vehicle and off they went to the shelter.

Upon arrival we noticed a grey harness that was very worn out with a large rope attached to it. He seemed to have broken free and appeared to be so proud of himself! Unfortunately, no one ever came for this sweet, loving and extremely friendly boy and now he is in need of a new place to call home. Nubz came in looking a little rough, he had some sores on his ears and face, and patches of mange where hair was missing. Both have since started to heal up and now Nubz would love to start the New Year off right with a loving new place to call his home.

He enjoys his time romping around being silly in our ball run. Once in the woods, he loves too sniff all the sniffs and explore the trails. After he is finished exploring he will gladly choose belly rubs, snuggles, and snacks over a ball and thrives on personal attention.


He definitely does not know his size or strength and because of this we would recommend a home with children 12+. He is proving to be a quick learner, he knows how to "sit" and we continue to progress while working on his manners.


He doesn't appreciate large males approaching his kennel but has seemingly done okay with some of our more friendly and calm-natured females. If you have another dog in the home please schedule a meet and greet to be sure its a love match!

Nubz is 80lbs of mush-mutt that we've all fallen head over heels for. Maybe it's his goofy personality or his ginormous lovable face...whatever it is we know you're going to love him too!

Born Again Pit Bull Rescue (BAPBR) regularly works with the wonderful volunteers at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a small coastal town on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can't always come outside to play--so we want YOU to see some of their really great dogs that they have up for adoption. It's only a short 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new family member!

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
