Novella's Story

Novella – The New Girl
Hi... I’m Novella. I’m kind of like the new girl at school right now. Still figuring out where I belong, trying to read the room, hoping I’m doing it right. I’m 2 years old, about 27 pounds, and I came here after things didn’t really work out where I was before. Before that... my story’s a little confusing. I was found with a homeless woman, but somehow I had AKC paperwork. Yeah... we don’t really know either. Rescue doesn’t always come with clear answers—just new beginnings.
I must say this whole baby pool things is awesome!! I launch into that thing!! I love fluttering around in it with my paws and then trying to bite my splashes!! So get a baby pool for me that is a must. First thing in the morning I go pee real fast then launch into the baby pool! I'm excited for summer!!
Trying to Fit In
I really like other dogs. Like... really like them. Sometimes I come on a little strong. I try to take charge, especially with smaller dogs, and I might even test the bigger ones too. I’m not trying to be mean—I just don’t always know how to act yet. The good news is when another dog tells me “hey, that’s too much,” I listen. I back off, I adjust, I learn. I want to get it right... I just need someone to show me how.
What I’m Like
I think I’m pretty easy to be around once I settle in. I’ve got medium energy—I like to play, but I also like to just hang out and be near you. I’m not too much, but I’m not a couch potato either. I crate well, I’m potty trained, and I’m trying really hard to understand what’s expected of me. Sometimes I just need a little guidance so I don’t make the wrong choice.
My Past... and My Fresh Start
I did have puppies at some point... I don’t really talk about it much. But I’m done with all of that now. I just want to be someone’s dog. I’m healthy as far as everyone can tell, and now I get a chance to start over the right way.
What I Need
I don’t need everything figured out. I just need someone patient, someone consistent, someone who won’t give up on me if I don’t get it perfect right away. I do best with dogs who can help guide me and correct me when I get a little too much, and a home that gives me structure so I don’t have to guess what’s right. I don’t know about cats yet, but I’m willing to learn just like everything else.
If I’m Being Honest
I’m trying. I’m trying to fit in, I’m trying to understand how this all works, I’m trying to be a good dog. And I think... with the right person... I really will be. I just have been couch surfing for a while with my homeless mom and the last rescue could not find a foster for me (no Frenchie ettique) and now I am ready to settle in.
The Next Chapter
If you’re looking for perfect, that’s not me. If you’re looking for potential... I have a lot of that. I just need someone to show me where I belong. I’m the new girl... but I still deserve the right home.
Novella is spay vaccinated and microchipped you can apply for her at freedomfrenchierescue.org. Her adoption donation fee is $1100.00 and she is being fostered in Mesa, AZ.
