Hi! My name is Nova and I am 1.5 years old. Now, while I know you just want to admire my soft fur and beautiful face all day, try to concentrate on what I am about to write! That way, you’ll know more about me and we can see if we could be a good match!<br/><br/>Things I love:<br/>Once I feel safe with you, I turn into a cuddle bug, err, dog! Being pet while lounging on the couch is a favourite pastime. Don’t worry, though, I won’t take up all the room! <br/>Food! I am food motivated!?<br/>Having another dog around to spend time with! It also helps with my confidence! <br/>Chewing on frozen Kongs, safe bones, etc. It helps me channel my energy!<br/><br/>I don’t mean to brag, but…<br/>I am very intelligent and a fast learner <br/>I know pretty much all basic commands <br/>I walk very well on leash and wait for “Ok” before going outside, getting out of the car, etc.<br/>I do well on car rides <br/>I am crate trained <br/>I am indifferent to cats<br/>I love pleasing my humans! I’m such a good girl!<br/>I am up-to-date on my vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and come with accessories!?<br/><br/>Things I am working on:<br/>My prey drive. If I see a squirrel or small animal (dogs and cats excluded) my instinct is to chase after them. <br/>Leash reactivity towards other dogs. I have been known to growl and bark quite intensely at them, but my foster family has been working very hard to help me through this and as I become more familiar and comfortable with my surroundings, I am becoming less reactive. Still, once I go to my forever family I could regress, so this is something to keep in mind.<br/>When I am scared, I show it in different ways. Sometimes I freeze, other times I try to bolt, and sometimes I growl and bark. Never ever at my humans, though! <br/><br/>Things that are important to know:<br/>When we first meet, I will be very shy and timid. It will take me some time to warm up (although, with my foster family, I warmed up to them right away!)<br/>New environments and meeting new people make me very nervous. <br/>I will need a quiet home outside of the city and I cannot live with children as they make me anxious.<br/>If you receive a lot of visitors, I’m probably not the dog for you as that would also make me very anxious.<br/><br/>I will need a very patient family who is willing to work through my fears with me. I’m worth the time and effort, I promise! <br/><br/>Can you see passed my fears and love me unconditionally? Ainsi, vous en saurez plus sur moi et nous pourrons voir si nous sommes compatibles!<br/><br/>Ce que j'aime:<br/>Une fois que je me sens en sécurité avec vous, je me transforme en une bestiole à câlins, euh, en chien! Me faire caresser en me prélassant sur le canapé est mon passe-temps favori. Mais aucun souci, je ne prendrai pas toute la place!<br/>La nourriture: Je suis bien motivée par la nourriture! ?<br/>Avoir un autre chien autour de moi pour passer du temps avec lui: ça m'aide aussi à avoir confiance en moi!<br/>Mâcher des Kongs congelés, des os sécurisés, etc.: ça m'aide à canaliser mon énergie!<br/><br/>Je ne veux pas me vanter, mais...<br/>je suis très intelligente et j'apprends vite.<br/>Je connais à peu près tous les commandes de base.<br/>Je marche très bien en laisse et j'attends le "OK" avant de sortir de la maison, de la voiture, etc.<br/>Je me débrouille bien lors des promenades en voiture.<br/>J'ai appris à entrer en cage.<br/>Je suis indifférente aux chats.<br/>J'adore faire plaisir à mes humains! Je suis une très gentille fille!<br/><br/>Je suis à jour pour mes vaccins, micropucée, vermifugée et je viens avec mes accessoires!<br/><br/>Les choses sur lesquelles je travaille:<br/>Mon instinct de prédation. Si je vois un écureuil ou un petit animal (chiens et chats exclus), mon instinct me pousse à leur courir après.<br/>Réactivité en laisse envers les autres chiens. Il m'est arrivé de grogner et d'aboyer assez intensément envers eux, mais ma famille d'accueil a travaillé très fort pour m'aider à surmonter cette difficulté, et, à mesure que je me familiarise avec mon environnement, je deviens moins réactive. Cependant, une fois que j'aurai rejoint ma famille adoptive, je pourrais régresser un temps, c'est donc une chose à garder en tête.<br/>Lorsque j'ai peur, je le montre de différentes manières. Parfois je me fige, d'autres fois j'essaie de fuir, et parfois je grogne et j'aboie. Mais jamais en direction de mes maîtres!<br/><br/>Ce qu'il est important de savoir:<br/>Lors de notre première rencontre, je serai très timide et craintive. Il me faudra un certain temps pour m'habituer (bien que, avec ma famille d'accueil, je me suis tout de suite habituée à eux).<br/>Les nouveaux environnements et la rencontre de nouvelles personnes me rendent très nerveuse.<br/>J'aurai besoin d'un foyer calme, à l'extérieur de la ville, et je ne peux pas vivre avec des enfants, car ils me rendent anxieuse.<br/>Si vous recevez beaucoup de visiteurs, je ne suis probablement pas le chien qu'il vous faut, car cela me rendrait également très anxieuse.<br/><br/>J'aurai besoin d'une famille très patiente qui est prête à travailler sur mes peurs avec moi.
