Norton's Story
If summer had a mascot, it might look a lot like Norton… soaking wet, grinning ear to ear, and proudly swimming back with a ball like he just conquered the ocean.
Norton is a 3-year-old, 60-pound Lab mix who has discovered his true calling in life: water retrieval specialist. Toss a ball into a pool, pond, or anything remotely splashable, and Norton is already airborne before it hits the surface. Dive, paddle, retrieve, repeat. It’s his version of fine art.

He enjoys his bursts of fun, especially when a ball is involved, but he also knows how to settle in and relax. After a good swim or a game of fetch, he’s more than happy to dry off and hang out with his people like the solid, easygoing companion he is.

And speaking of his people… Norton really, truly wants to make them happy. He’s the kind of dog who looks to you for direction, connection, and approval. Give him a job, toss him a ball, or just tell him he’s a good boy, and you’ll see that tail go into overdrive.

Norton does well with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions.
He’s both house trained and kennel trained, rides beautifully in the car, and is ready for whatever adventure you’ve got planned… especially if it involves water and a tennis ball.

A physically fenced yard will give him a safe place to stretch his legs and practice his signature moves, but his real wish list is pretty simple: a person (or people) to love, a ball to chase, and maybe a splash zone or two.

If you’re looking for a dog who brings a little sunshine, a little laughter, and a whole lot of heart, Norton is ready to dive right into your life.
Norton is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm tested.

If you’d like to meet Norton, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org.

If you have questions about Norton you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657.

Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Indoor homes only.
Adoption Fee: $300
