Norm's Story

Norm is just the sweetest, gentlest, and quiet goofball. Affectionate and respectful, with a hint of velcro. And despite an apparent resting face of slight anxious fascination, he’s fantastically relaxed and gently waggy, (with that nice low, slow, swish and soft eyes, and no high-tailed arousal stances). And he’s a soft-mouthed toy mover, rather than a disemboweller, which is a kindness. Especially as he’s doing some trial and error by bring us the odd laundry ball and microfiber cloth, just to check.

Ge’ll be a lovely boy for someone.

NOTES from Norm's foster home -

Bonza foster-hound Norm showing his newly acquired ‘sit’ skillz. He thinks it’s a bit odd, but will oblige for kibble.

Like all our hounds, he is true to his breed, and utterly unique. So, raccoons, squirrels and bunnies are spotted from far, far away and, if foolish enough to stray into the garden pursued with youthful enthusiasm. But he respects the leash on walks, resisting the urge to launch after local wildlife quite admirably, while making it clear he knows EXACTLY where that squirrel is.

At home, he is endlessly curious, and a collector, gently adding interesting momentos to his squeaky-toy pile. No chewing, but a lot of stuffing being unstuffed.
He is our first 100% Velcro foster. Oh, we’ve had affectionate, even cuddly guests aplenty - greys are just naturally people-forward, right? - but when I’m home, Norm will be nearby constantly, unless there is a garden situation that requires urgent investigation. Harry thinks he’s too young for me, James, the house… and has adopted a grumpy elder statesman persona. Danica is reveling in the boy-toy attention.

He’s the only dog I’ve ever seen eat round raw food in favor of kibble. There had to be one, I guess.

(A fenced yard is required. He is available for adoption in Western WA.)

https://www.facebook.com/groups/304408463432

https://www.facebook.com/RoyalHoundsGreyhoundAdoption
