NORA's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Nora's adoption fee is partially sponsored! Nora is a gorgeous 3‑year‑old female Rottweiler mix with a heart as big as her paws. Weighing about 85 lbs (with a healthy goal closer to 100 lbs), she’s a strong, affectionate girl who truly thrives in a home environment.

Nora has vitiligo, a harmless condition that causes loss of pigment in parts of her skin. It requires no treatment, causes her no discomfort, and doesn’t affect her quality of life—it just makes her extra unique and beautiful.

Recently, Nora had the chance to stay in a home, and she absolutely shined. She is fully potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps quietly through the night. She settles nicely indoors and clearly loves being part of a family routine.

Nora is a happy, people‑loving dog who bonds closely with her humans. She’s very affectionate and sometimes gets so excited that she’ll pop up for a hug—something that can easily be refined with continued positive‑reinforcement training. She is food‑motivated, enjoys her meals (a slow feeder works best for her), and has shown no food or toy guarding.

She enjoys walks and outings and does well in the car, making her a great adventure buddy. On leash, she can pull a bit due to her size and enthusiasm, but she’s eager to engage and learn. Nora loves to play tug and does so appropriately without over‑arousal.

In the home, Nora was indifferent to a larger male dog. She can become overly excited around small animals but is redirectable with guidance. An experienced adopter or rescue familiar with large breeds would be ideal.

Nora is a truly wonderful dog who has already shown how special she can be outside of the shelter. She deserves a real chance at a fresh start, whether through rescue, foster, or adoption.

Nora’s Details:

âœ... Spayed
âœ... Up to date on vaccinations
âœ...
