Nora's Story

Breed: English Setter
Sex: Female, spayed
Age: 1.5 years
Weight: 30 lb
Location: NC
Good with other dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Unknown
Good with kids: No
Crate trained: Yes
Housebroken: Yes
Health: Very good
Microchip: Yes

Nora is on the hunt for her adoptive family. She is a 16-month-old, affectionate, quiet, and gorgeous English Setter. She is super smart, and taught herself how to open her food storage containers - and she isn’t shy about using this talent when she feels the need to munch. While it may take her a bit to warm up to you, she absolutely loves affection, more than snacking ... possibly! As soon as you start petting her, she relaxes, her eyes soften, and she will likely dose off. She will be your shadow, following you all around the house, always ready for a run to the hardware store or a walk downtown. And she is fabulous in a car! Did you say hike? Nora walks impeccably on a leash, right next to you, never pulling. She enjoys friendships with other dogs and would be happy to share a home with another pup. Nora is crate trained but you get bonus points if you let her sleep next to you on her back, in the crook of your arm, just in case you want to run your nails gently over her chest and belly.

Nora doesn’t really play with toys but loves to play with other dogs. She likes vanilla yogurt, vanilla wafers, and hickory-smoked bones. Actually they smell so good I would like one!

She is currently accepting applications for a quiet home, one with an adult or two, where children are visitors only, and do not stay. In fact, all company should be patient, understanding that Nora, as cute as she is, may need space away from them. Nora’s foster mom has requested only applications within approximately a 200 mile radius of Charlotte, NC to facilitate the opportunity for Nora to meet the applicants.

If you think Nora might be the pup for you, please put in an application!

A Better English Setter Rescue's Adoption Policy
We are a national breed rescue group and our process is designed to make sure we are very careful in the placement of all of our rescue dogs. Here's the link to our online adoption application in case you haven't already started. https://www.abetteresetter.org/adopt There is no cost or obligation for completing the application. Within a few days you'll receive a phone call from one of our volunteers to discuss your application. We do check vet references and conduct home visits. If you haven't been through a breed rescue adoption process, it may seem lengthy at first but it is just intended to make sure each individual/family adopts the right dog for your family and home. In our rescue they are fostered in a home and our intention is that they are never abandoned or let down again.
