Nisha's Story
Nisha is a beautiful, resilient girl who has come a long way and is ready for the life she always deserved. When she first came into rescue, she had clearly been neglected--underweight, with sores, and suffering from entropion, a painful condition where her eyelashes rubbed against her eyes. Since then, she has received the medical care she needed, including entropion correction surgery, spay, and preventative gastropexy. Today, she is happy, healthy, and thriving.

Nisha is friendly, loving, and a bit timid as she builds trust. Once she feels safe, her affectionate side really shines--she wants to be near her people whenever she's not off exploring. She enjoys long walks, loves a good run in a secure, enclosed space, and approaches the world with curiosity, as if everything is new and exciting. Because of this, she should not be off leash in open areas, as she can be a runner.

She is dog friendly and does well with puppies and female dogs. She previously needed time to warm up to male dogs, though that may have been situational. She is kid friendly and crate trained, settling nicely when left alone. She is also potty trained. Nisha is a good eater but should be fed separately, as she can become reactive around food when other dogs are nearby.

She has a moderate activity level (level 3) and will benefit from continued training. She currently knows very few commands and will need repetition, structure, and patient coaching to build her skills and confidence.

Nisha does have "happy tail," which means her tail is prone to injury and may require ongoing management or eventual bobbing.

She would do best in a home that:
-Has giant breed experience and understands her needs
-Can provide structure, consistency, and continued training
-Has a secure, enclosed space for safe exercise (no off-leash in open areas)
-Is comfortable managing separate feeding routines
-Either has no other pets or can properly manage interactions around food

Overall, Nisha is a sweet, loving, and deserving dog who has overcome a difficult past and is ready to bond deeply with her forever family. With the right home, she will continue to blossom into an incredible companion.

Before adoption, all Boxers and Buddies dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped. All dogs are fostered in a foster home where they are treated like family - practicing socialization skills.

After you submit an application, our team will review and contact you within 24 hours. The process includes an interview, home check, and meet-and-greet (all household dogs must be present). Renters must provide a lease showing dogs are allowed. Adopters are also required to complete a training course with a certified positive reinforcement trainer. We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
If you are interested in meet or adoption me, please fill out an adoption application athttps://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sa3058&method=online_form_html&formid=41
