Nina used to live in a 40’ x 40’ dirt pen with a basic dog house, a small kiddie pool, and a couple of bowls for food and water. Despite those conditions, she was nursing a litter of ten puppies. Nina eventually found her way into a foster home to give her the safety and love she desperately deserved while her puppies grew strong. All of Nina’s babies have found homes of their own - now it’s her turn. Welcome beautiful Nina to BDRP! <br/><br/>Nina is only 1.5-2 years old but she is an old soul. She is calm, gentle and affectionate - she’s truly an amazing dog. A bit about Nina from her foster family: <br/><br/>Indoor Manners: She caught on to house life remarkably fast. Nina has had zero potty accidents inside the house from day one.<br/><br/>Leash Training & Responsiveness: Coming from a livestock guardian breed background, she occasionally gets curious and tries to head off in her own direction on walks. However, as soon as you gently remind her that she's on the leash and needs to walk beside you, she listens, corrects herself, and trots right back to your side.<br/><br/>Mellowing Out: Early on, she nibbled a couple of cardboard boxes out of curiosity. Once we gave her dedicated dog toys, she immediately understood what was hers and hasn't chewed a single household item since.<br/><br/>Health & Healing: She is now fully spayed, finishing up her post-op recovery, and completely up-to-date on all flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives (Bravecto and parasite treatments).<br/><br/>100% House-Trained: Absolutely zero potty accidents inside the house since entering foster care.<br/><br/>Responsive on Leash: While her curious nature might make her wander or pull slightly toward something interesting, a simple reminder brings her right back to walking nicely by your side.<br/><br/>Respectful of Household Items: Perfectly content sticking to her own toys and leaves shoes, furniture, and personal belongings alone.<br/><br/>Affectionate & Gentle: Thrives on belly rubs, ear scratches, and snuggle sessions. She gives affection softly without face-licking or jumping up.<br/><br/>Kid, Cat, and Dog Friendly: Incredibly soft-tempered, patient, and non-aggressive. Shares food calmly with zero resource guarding and gets along great with cats, other dogs, and children of all ages.<br/><br/>Quiet, Calm, & Soulful: A peaceful presence in the home who rarely barks. One of her most amazing quirks is when she hears a siren—she lets out a beautiful, ancient wolf howl that feels like a soulful echo straight from the Pyrenees mountains.<br/><br/>Nina will be traveling to New Jersey today and is looking for an adopter or foster.
