Nila's Story

Update 5-28-2021

Hi! My name is Nila. I've been in my foster home for 2 weeks, and am adjusting to being in a real home with these humans very quickly.

I can't be too bad, as my foster parents tell me good girl a lot! Their only real issue with me is that I love to chase the cats that live here.

I don't know why I do it, but I just can't help myself! They have been hiding under the bed quite a bit, so I would probably do best with a home that doesn't have any cats. I love to go outside and walk around in the yard smelling things, but I get really excited if I see a squirrel or anything that moves, so I'm either on a leash or I have a tie-out that I like so I can run a bit. I haven't had much exposure to children or dogs yet. I tend to be very interested in people walking by, so I would definitely be happy with a fenced-in yard, so I can run and play without being tied up and getting nervous as people and other dogs walk by. My foster parents say that I excel in kisses and wiggle butt! I haven't had much training, so they are teaching me how to sit and shake - they call it tricks and treats. I'm getting closer, so I definitely have the ability to learn. My vet said that I'm in great physical shape. I was a little timid for a minute when I got there, but then gave everyone kisses when I realized they weren't going to hurt me. I'm spayed, fully vaccinated and all of my bloodwork came out great! I don't always eat two meals a day - sometimes I'm just not interested. I am good in a pet carrier so far, I don't normally whine at all! I'm also good in a vehicle, no panting or whining, but I am not used to getting to go on rides, so I'm just learning how to get up on the seat by myself. I can go a long time without having to go potty, so if that happens, don't be concerned, that's just how I am. One of my favorite things to do, is sit on the couch with you when you're watching TV, and putting my head on your lap. I'm not very familiar with what to do with toys, but I'm starting to get a little interest.
