At just 6 months old, Night Ranger has already learned one of lifes most important lessons: nothing is going to stop him from having fun.<br/>Ranger was hit by a car and brought to a rural shelter to be euthanized because of the severity of his injuries. Thankfully, a local volunteer witnessed him arriving and immediately reached out to ABTCR for help. His injuries ultimately meant that one of his legs had to be amputated—but Ranger never got the memo that he was supposed to slow down.<br/><br/>From day one, this 35lb boy has embraced life as a tripod. He runs. He plays. He zooms around with the biggest smile on his face. He squeezes every ounce of joy out of every moment, and watching him race around is impossible not to love.<br/>Ranger is an exuberant, happy, playful puppy who absolutely adores other dogs. He has two wonderful canine trainers in his foster home who are helping him learn his listening skills, manners, and boundaries with his doggy friends. He is also great with the family cat and thinks pretty much every human he meets is his new best friend. His preferred method of saying hello? Copious amounts of puppy kisses. <br/><br/>He loves squeaky toys and bones and is perfectly capable of entertaining himself for hours. And when he gets the chance to run at full speed, he does it with pure puppy joy written all over his face.<br/><br/>Ranger is doing well with his potty training and now knows the command potty outside. He is also working hard on his kennel training and making great progress. He LOVES his meals and is learning that coming when called is especially rewarding when treats are involved. <br/><br/>And then there's water. <br/><br/>Unlike many hounds, Ranger LOVES water. He will happily lie in a sprinkler, splash around, and—believe it or not—he even loves his baths! His dream family might just be one that enjoys spending time around the water and would happily take this little tripod along for swimming adventures.<br/><br/>Ranger is looking for an active, committed family who will continue helping him learn, grow, and become the very best dog he can be. He needs people who appreciate the energy, enthusiasm, and occasional chaos that comes with an exuberant puppy—and who will celebrate the fact that this boy has absolutely no interest in letting his past define his future.<br/><br/>Night Ranger may have lost a leg, but he never lost his spark. He leads with his heart and soul, loves with his whole body, and runs through life like he has somewhere wonderful to be. And maybe he does. Night Ranger is being fostered in Mobile, Alabama.
