Nigel's Story

Hi! My name is Nigel and I am looking for a forever home. I was an owner surrender to a small rescue by a backyard breeder who gave up several of us. A volunteer with that rescue reached out to BCAA to see if they could help me and another dog (Nyx who is a doodle mix) and they said yes! The folks were told I was a full blooded standard poodle but I don't come with any type of paperwork. My coat was also pretty much of a hot mess so I was shaved down right before coming to my BCAA foster. The vet said I appear to be around 2 years old and I appear to be a good weight at around 56lbs. My foster parents say neither Nyx or I seem to be the typical backyard breeder dogs that have come into foster in the past as we are pretty social and love that we are now able to get some attention. When we go out in the exercise yard, we are having a blast running around and we are pretty energetic; however, get us in a room with some one-on-one attention and both of us become love bugs and puddles. We get along with each other but haven't met the other smaller dogs here one-on-one yet; neither of us have shown too much interest in the cats we have encountered. While I really don't want to go into my crate and would prefer to be out with you, I have done good in one without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding. I'm doing ok on leash but will pull some in my excitement on being out on an adventure as everything is new and exciting to me. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
