Meet Nellie!<br/><br/>Nellie is a sweet, gentle 10-year-old spayed female Basset Hound/Terrier mix looking for her second chance at a loving home. She came to us from a downstate high-kill shelter after being found as a stray on the side of the road. Despite her difficult past, Nellie has a beautiful soul and so much love to give.<br/><br/>This lovely senior girl is a little on the chubby side and is working on shedding a few pounds. She has recently discovered that she loves slow, leisurely walks where she can stop to explore the grass, sniff the trees, and take in the world around her. She's house-trained and walks beautifully on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for relaxed daily strolls.<br/><br/>Nellie's foster family reports that she would be happiest as the only dog—the true queen of her castle!
