NED's Story

MEET NED! STATS: 3 years old, neutered, Lab Mix, 60 lbs AFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a pretty laid back and chill guy. I am more of a leaner against your knees than runner and jumper. My energy level is pretty low and I play very dainty with the other dogs. I'm not really a fan of playing rough and getting tackled. Can’t we all just lay around and enjoy the breeze? When it comes to affection though, I am a very loving and sweet boy! WHAT I LOVE: I love naps, sleeping, soft treats, a shady spot on a warm day, snoozing, afternoon siestas, a short and slow stroll, and resting my head on knees. I will play a little here and there, but I would rather prefer to take things easy. KIDS: While I haven’t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, the staff thinks I would do best with older kids/teens since I don’t really like a lot of commotion and prefer to maintain a chill environment. OTHER DOGS: I don’t mind other dogs, as long as they are chill like I am! I go to the gentle/dainty playgroup here at the shelter every day because I enjoy the company of other dogs but I don’t want to play rough! CATS: Unknown HIS MATCH: If you value the slow, chill moments in life, then I might be the guy for you! I just want someone to coexist with and enjoy the small and simple things. If you were to adopt me, I guarantee you would have a much calmer and relaxing life! SPECIAL NOTE: I love to stare longingly into your eyes as if to ask “why aren’t you petting me right now?” Complete an online application and get pre-approved to adopt at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/PetAdoptionSurvey. Once you complete the app, a staff member will call you in 1-2 business days once approved to set up a time for you to meet the pet you are interested in. Every adoptable pet is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention for dogs. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. Adoptions are matched based on best placement and require no negative animal history.
