This special girl was found emaciated, covered in scars, and fending for herself on the shoulder of a busy highway. How many cars drove by without stopping? We’ll never know. But one of our amazing volunteers did go looking for her — and that moment changed Nadia’s life forever.<br/><br/>Safely trapped and finally given a chance, Nadia began her long journey back to health. She's estimated to be around 4–5 years old and has transformed into a beautifully gentle, laid-back companion who asks for so little and gives so much. All she wants is a warm bed or a cozy couch to curl up on, some yummy treats, a few peaceful walks, and the kind of snuggle time she must have only dreamed of during her hardest days.<br/><br/>While a few scars remain, they are simply reminders of everything she’s survived — proof of her resilience, not her past suffering. While she has made one doggy friend, after everything she’s endured she would thrive best as the only pet in the home where she can soak up all the love she’s been waiting for. We know that makes it harder to find a home, but after all that she's been through, we will patiently do the work to make it happen!<br/><br/>Her foster has gone above and beyond to help her heal, and now it’s time for Nadia’s next chapter. One filled with love, stability, and the safety she’s always deserved. She thrives in a low traffic home where she can bond with her people and continue to heal from some of her deep-seated fears.<br/><br/>To say she’s beaten the odds is an understatement. Nadia is the definition of an underdog... and she’s ready for her miracle. We may also suggest other amazing dogs in our care who could be a great fit for your home.<br/><br/>**NOTE: Completed applications take priority over Petfinder inquiries or emails. <br/><br/>LOCATION & TRANSPORT: <br/><br/>This dog is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $300 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.<br/><br/>VETTING:<br/><br/>All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped. Note: We cannot guarantee full grown size or breed mix.
