Our Mission

Misfits & Underdogs is a village of big-hearted rescuers in South Mississippi fighting for the discarded, the overlooked, and the underdogs (& kitties too). We believe every underdog deserves a place to call home.

Adoption Policy

Apply to adopt a dog: www.bit.ly/mu-adopt Apply to adopt a cat: www.bit.ly.mu-adopt-cat Our adoption process is thorough and designed to ensure the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter. We require a detailed application, check veterinary and personal references, conduct phone interviews and video meet and greets (especially for out-of-state adopters), and may conduct home visits for applicants (virtual if out-of-state). We disclose all known health and behavior information so adopters can make an informed decision, and we look for a lifelong commitment, including a plan in place in case the adopter can no longer care for the animal.
