This belly ain't gonna rub itself! ~Myrtle

Who's looking for a spicy little schnitzel? Meet Myrtle! Myrtle is a 5 yr old, 11 lb smooth black and tan dapple (also known as silver or blue dapple) dachshund with one partial blue eye. Myrtle was recently released from a commercial breeding facility and is done having puppies. She's ready to enjoy a life that includes plenty of toys, soft blankets, tasty treats and most of all, belly rubs.
Although she spent the beginning of her life in a commercial breeding facility, Myrtle is quite the Diva. She demands attention and belly rubs 24/7. Myrtle wants to be with you and be the center of attention at all times. She can be sassy, but she's a great little cuddler and companion.

Myrtle is very active and enjoys spending time outside when the weather is nice. She flat out refuses to walk on a leash, so she will need a securely fenced yard for her safety. Myrtle is very curious, which helps her find weaknesses in fences. She can be a bit of a Houdini, so you'll want to keep an eye on this little one.

Myrtle is getting the hang of potty training. As long as you take her out regularly and make sure she potties, she does well. But she still has some accidents in the house. A consistent schedule will help continue her training.

Myrtle gets along well with other small dogs. She needs a small resident dog in her forever home to help show her the ropes. She loves to play with toys, especially squeakies, often carrying them around the room "burying" and hiding them. Myrtle is a busy little girl that will find something to do if you don't keep her busy.

Myrtle sleeps in a kennel at night quietly if she is in the same room as you. If you leave the house, Myrtle will kennel, but she can be a bit vocal. She also will try to pull anything she can reach through the bars of the crate. If you leave a blanket on top of her crate, it might be in the crate by the time you get home. This little Houdini has gotten herself out of both a wire and plastic crate and has moved her crate several feet across the room. So needless to say, she's not very fond of being left alone. An 8 hour day would probably be a bit much for her.

Myrtle is a busy girl that can be feisty at times, but she's quite the character. She will make you laugh at her silly behavior and keep you on your toes with her spunky antics. The cuddles and kisses make it all worth it.

If you need this demanding little Diva in your life, and are willing to give lots of belly rubs, apply to adopt Myrtle today.

Suggested adoption donation for Myrtle is a minimum of $500 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to other geographical areas as long as we can find a local volunteer to perform the courtesy home visit, and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs coming from a commercial breeding background require a securely fenced yard AND a resident dog for a companion, unless stated otherwise in the bio. Please note: invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
