Mya's Story

Meet Mya, she is a 9 month old Beagle/Spaniel mix. 31lbs.

Mya came from a sad situation. Mya was one of 42 dogs found in her home, which was covered in feces and urine.

A dog in the home had a DNA test completed and the breeds were Beagle, Australian Shepherd and Basset Hound.

Despite her background, she LOVES people. She is the most social, loving dog!

When it comes to other dogs, Mya does have resource guarding. She guards her food and human food(from other dogs). If Myas adopter has other dogs, she must be crated when humans and dogs are eating. Otherwise, she does fine with dogs.

We are pushing for Mya to be in an ONLY DOG home, because this would be the safest and make Mya the happiest. However, food aggression can be managed by using a crate.

As far as potty training, Mya is working on that! Her foster family is taking her out every few hours to get her in the rhythm of going outside to potty. Patience goes a long way!!

Mya would love to be an ONLY DOG and get all of the love!!

Mya is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, up to date on preventatives and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $250.

Fill out an application for Mya at sianimalrescue.org.
